A terrorist squad operating in Ramallah were caught

It has been cleared for publication that in November 2012, the General Security Service with the assistance of the IDF and Israel Police revealed a squad of activists from Sanjh'al village, near Ramallah, which was behind a series of popular terrorist attacks, including throwing petrol bombs at an Israeli vehicle, traveling on 5th Kislev on the Maale Levona axis, near the Sanjh'al intersection (route 60). Due to the attack the vehicle was completely burned, but the passengers who managed to escape the burning car, escaped unharmed.


During the General Security Service interrogation those involved admitted to the charges brought against them, as well as a series of popular terrorist attacks throwing petrol bombs and stones at vehicles and Israeli buses and army vehicles, traveling on route 60.

Main squad members, who carried out the attack in the above are:

• Hassin Shabana, born in 1983, resident of Sanjh'al, without organizational affiliation, admitted carrying out the attack and involvement in stone-throwing with others at Israeli cars and army vehicles on Route 60 and the entrance to the village, possession of weapons and the establishment of the squad of stone throwers and petrol bombs during Operation Cast Lead. Also, during his interrogation he handed in two guns.

• Yussuf Affri, born in 1992, resident of Sanjh'al, without organizational affiliation, admitted carrying out the attack and throwing stones and petrol bombs at Israeli vehicles, agreed to participate in a pipe bombs attack and transfer of a shell that he found in other popular terrorist operatives.

During December 2012 indictments were submitted to the Judea Military Court against Yussuf Affri and Hassin Shabana, who attribute their many crimes of manufacturing and throwing petrol bombs at Israeli vehicles on different occasions.

It should be emphasized that the village Sanjh'al is prominent center of mass terrorism, performed on Route 60 next to the village. After the arrest of members of the squad relaxation was felt at the area and a significant decrease in the amount of popular terrorist activity events in the village area.
