Behadrey Haredim presents: The full speech of Hagaon R' Aharon Leib Steinman at the elections conference in Binyanei Ha'uma:

"Morai veraboisai, everyone knows that all the Mitzvos are holy to the point that one can not describe their greatness, yet there is an offense of Chilul Hashem and a mitzvah of Kiddush Hashem. And regarding Chilul Hashem it says in Rabbeinu Yonah that it is worse than Avoda Zora not in public, and therefore one who swears in Beis Din falsely, which is Chilul Hashem, is worse than Avoda Zora, so much so! And presumably a good Mida is even more so, and a good Mida is Kiddush Hashem.

"And Kiddush Hashem, if Klal Yisroel say that if we want all of Klal Yisroel, the whole land of Israel will act according to holiness, according to the Torah, that is Kiddush Hashem. Each one who says that, if he votes, he thereby says "I want that the Name heaven be sanctified," that all of Klal Yisroel will behave according to the rule of the Torah.

"This is something that does not give one an opportunity every day, now it is something that the whole world can know, a person says" I want the name of Hakodosh Boruch Hu to be sanctified ", which is the biggest thing.
