British defense minister, Philip Hammond, announced tonight (Saturday), the end of the crisis in Algeria, saying that "the kidnappers are held solely responsible for the loss of human life."
Four days after the radical Islamic group took over the field, and taking foreign hostages, the last attack was held on the gas field in the Sahara desert.
During the attack 11 fighters from the group associated with the terrorist organization were killed.
It was also reported that during the attack the kidnappers killed seven captors who they held hostage.
Upon the entrance of the army to the gas field area 15 burnt bodies were found and now efforts are being made to identify them.
As of this hour it is not yet clear how they were killed.
Earlier in the day, before the rescue operation, 16 hostages were released, including two U.S. citizens, two German citizens and a Portuguese citizen.
British Foreign Secretary William Hague, said that "Now, less than ten British citizens are at risk or are missing in Algeria."
