Number two on the joint list of the Likud and Yisrael Beiteinu, Avigdor Lieberman, sounds optimistic.

This morning (Shabbos), Liberman said that contrary to polls released in recent weeks which are predicting a decline in the power of the list, the Likud-Beitenu party, he estimates, will get 40 seats in the elections.

"Wewill get more seats than predicted by polls, I am not sure the polls reflect reality," he said at an event held in Be'er Sheva.

Concerning the campaign the former Minister spoke about Shas's campaign and broadcasts "asterisk conversion" which provoked outrage among voters.

"We are in favor of Judaism without public business, what we saw on this broadcast was an attempt to tarnish all immigrants."

He also discussed the possibility of Shas and the ultra-Orthodox being a partner in the government and said: "Only those who accept the guidelines which we have declared: equal burden, changing the system of government and affordable housing, will be a political partner."

Commenting on the indictment against him on the Belarus Ambassador affair, he said, "I am convinced that I will be acquitted in court and eventually return as foreign minister."

He also referred to Obama's criticism of the government and said that "we will not stop building in Jerusalem."
