Rubinstein to the Prime Minister adviser: Shas illegally hands out charms

Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Judge Elyakim Rubinstein, contacted the attorney general to examine a complaint against the Shas party, in which they illegally hand out charms to their voters.

Shas voters prepared kits for distribution to its voters of 'tefilat haderech' containing a campaign CD and tefilat haderech.

The image of Hgr"o is seen on the tefilat haderech and this infuriated the honorable judge: "The things listed on the card on which the tefilat haderech is printed, alongside a photograph of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef," he said, "raises the concern that potential voters may be influenced by the binding and the verse 'G-d will guard your departure and arrival from here to eternity', signed by Rabbi Yosef over the caption, 'Shas – this is Maran's order', and who to vote for."

"Accumulation of things justifies their transfer to the attorney general," added Rubenstein.

Rubinstein prohibited the distribution of charms from now on and allowed only the distribution of the CD.
