Jack Teitel was convicted of two murders of Palestinians

The Jerusalem District Court convicted today (Wednesday) afternoon Yaakov (Jack) Teitel, who is called 'The Jewish terrorist', with two murder counts of Palestinians, three attempted murders and a number of ideological sabotaged offenses.


The panel of judges decided Teitel was lucid and aware of his actions when he carried them out.


Teitel, a resident of Shvut Rachel in Samaria, who operated for a few months as an informer of the Jewish Department of the Shin Bet, was arrested in October 2009 on suspicion of the murder of two Palestinians in 1997, an attempt to harm Prof. Ze'ev Sternhell, who belongs to the ranks of the extreme left, and placing an explosive device that caused the injury of a family member belonging to the Messianic Jews.


In May 2010, the district psychiatrist determined that Teitel is insane and unfit to stand trial, but the court adopted the opposite position which was presented to them, and convicted him in accordance with a plea bargain which was closed with the prosecution.
