Hrh"ch Rabbi Avigdor Elbaum passed away in Jerusalem at the age of 85, he was a senior Belzer chassid • one of the first to stimulate the construction of the Mikdash at the Temple Mount • funeral at noon – in Kiryat Belze

Baruch Dayan Haemes: Hrh"ch Rabbi Avigdor Elbaum passed away in Jerusalem at the age of 85, he was a senior Belzer chassid.


The deceased was born in Poland on 4th Tishrei תרפ"ח, to his father Rabbi Nechemiah z"l and his mother Mrs. Freidel a"h.


As a Satmar yeshiva student, where he went to learn directly after his immigration to Israel after the Holocaust, Harav Elbaum was accompanied by the Rab"d of the Eideh Charedi, Rabbi Yisrael Yaakov Fisher zt"l.

He was one of the initial triggers for the return of the return of the Temple construction, after the liberation of the Temple Mount, along with his brother Rabbi David Elbaum and their children. This included writing Torah home books, including the establishment of a special kollel and clarification of laws of the Temple, and establishing the first factory for creating Temple vessels.

Rabbi Elbaum z"l merited, and many of the Gedoleo Yisrael from all circles and communities gave him consent to his books: Torat Habayit (three sections) on matters of building the Temple and sacrificial in that time, and the books "Veatah Techezeh" (five parts) on the Torah, Neviim, Ketuvim and Rambam). Including Hgr"m Eliyahu, Hgr"a Shapiro Hgra"i Zlwznik and Hgry"y Fisher zt"l, and Hgr"o Yosef, Belzer Rebbe and more.


He was one of the members of the Beit Midrash of Chassidut Gur.

He left 16 sons and daughters and hundreds of grandchildren, including his eldest son, Rabbi Yosef Yechiel Elbaum, Rosh Kolle Torat Habayit, and leader of the movement for the establishment of the Temple, Rabbi Shlomo, Rabbi Mordechai. One of his sons in law is the known mohel Rabbi Moshe Weisberg.


The funeral will leave today (Tuesday) at 14:00 pm from his home on 2 Dover Shalom Street in Kiryat Belze, Jerusalem via Beit Midrash of Belze towards Har Hamenuchos, where he will be laid to rest.
