Mt. Cisco: house burned and family left homeless
קובי

A fire broke out on Friday night at the home of a hareidi family in the town of Mount Cisco, New York. The fire destroyed the house and left its residents homeless.

The fire broke out at about 10 pm on Nitra street, on the second floor of the apartment. The family members, who were in the first floor, smelled heavy smoke and hurried to leave the house and call for help.

Dozens of fire engines arrived worked for half an hour to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading.

It turned out that the fire which broke out by a short circuit, started in one of the bedrooms on the second floor and quickly spread to the rest of the house.

Before the eyes of family members, who stood and watched the attempts to extinguish the fire, the home burned down gradually.

The second floor burned down completely, while the first floor was severely damaged from the heat, soot and water hoses of the fire department.

The family which remained homeless on the cold Friday night, stayed with a neighboring family. On Motzaei Shabbos it became clear that the family can not continue to live in the burnt house.

Since the beginning of the week activists are trying to raise funds for the family to find them alternative housing.
