'Am Shalem' will remove image of Hgr"o Yosef

Following a petition filed by Shas and the representitive of Hgr"o Yosef's family to the Central Elections Commission and its head, Justice Eliakim Rubinstein, against the Am Shalem party of Rabbi Haim Amsalem, the latter announced that it would stop using the picture of Hgr"o Yosef in its publications.

The petitioners complained that the campaign of Am Shalem in the Behadrey Haredim site - the world's largest haredi site – features a photograph of Hgr"o Yosef. "The publication of Maran's photograph on the ballot of Amsalem list, combined with the above campaign slogan, cause humiliation and degradation of Maran - contrary to Article 2 (4) and a violation of Article 2 (5) of the protection of privacy.

"Therefore the applicants request that the Chairman of the Central Election Commission will instruct MK Amsalem to remove this campaign."

As said, the Am Shalem party announced that following the complaint they will stop using the picture of Hgr"o, and in the future too, they will not use his picture.
