Good news: Hgr"o Yosef was released from the hospital to his home


The day after the mild stroke, the condition of the President of the Council of Torah Sages, Hgr"o Yosef, is defined as good, his doctors expressed optimism, and he was released early this afternoon to his home in Har Nof.


The hospital reported that Hgr"o is fully communicating with those around him. Initially he was scheduled to undergo a series of tests at the hospital, and after several days of testing and monitoring, to be released. But given his condition his doctors decided to release him immediately to his home.


During the night prayers were held in synagogues and yeshivas for his recovery, by Hgray"l Steinman's order, Tehillim was recited in all yeshivas dedicated to the recovery of Hgr"o after shacharis.

Hgr"o suffered a stroke on Shabbos morning, and at eight was evacuated to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. A doctor who was present at the synagogue of Hgr"o, diagnosed that the Rabbi had suffered a minor stroke.


Hgr"o was hospitalized in good condition.

Etty Dvir, a spokeswoman for Hadassah said on Motzei Shabbos, that Rabbi Ovadia Yosef was brought in this morning to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital after feeling unwell. Comprehensive tests have shown that apparently he had a minor stroke. Consultation with his doctor Professor Yochanan Shatsman and his family, it was decided to hospitalize him in Hadassah for a few more days to perform additional testing, surveillance and rest. The Rabbi's good condition, he is fully conscious all the time and fully communicating with those around him.


Dr. Yuval Weiss, director of Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, said at a press conference on Motzei Shabbos that the rabbi had a "mild stroke." He also said that the rabbi was fully conscious and he will remain in the hospital for a few days to go through a series of tests. "He is communicating and talking to everyone and will be released to his home in the coming days, "said Dr. Weiss.
