Jet engine, Arkia, caught fire - and landed safely at the airport
Pilot of an Arkia a plane, on his way from Eilat to Sde Dov noticed that one of the engines caught fire • The pilot turned to Ben Gurion Airport, where rescue teams were waiting • by divine intervention there was no damage or injuries

Arkia plane, type atr on a flight departing from Eilat to Sde Dov with 67 passengers and crew members aboard, announced that he was going to make an emergency landing at the airport - after a fire broke out in one of its engines. Ben Gurion airport were preparing for a landing on an emergency basis.
During the flight, a little before 13:00, the pilot noticed that one of the two engines on the aircraft was in flames. The pilot quickly turned off the engine, while reporting the incident to the control tower. Ben Gurion Airport declared an emergency 2 and rescue forces were called to the scene from all over the center area.
Fire crews, MDA ambulances, Hatzalah and Hatzalah Gush Dan conducted at the field. With the help of Hashem, the plane landed without casualties and no damage. Passengers were taken off the plane normally, and within the hour they will be transferred to Sde Dov by buses.
