Lapid against Bennett: "whispering to rabbis"
Yair Lapid, frightened by the possibility he may become a fifth wheel in the Netanyahu government, attacked Bennett: "Your proposal for recruitment will continue the arrangement of 'Torato Umanuto'

The probing of the haredi party leaders by the Bayit Hayehudi chairman, Naftali Bennett, and the latter's placatory statements about recruiting the haredim to the IDF, managed, it seems, to upset the chairman of Yesh Atid, Yair Lapid.
Last night (Wednesday), at a press conference at Beit Sokolov in Tel Aviv, Lapid attacked Bennett: "I want to warn voters against solutions scam that are Naftali Bennett style, who says to the secular public 'equal burden', and then runs and whispers into the ears of the ultra-Orthodox rabbis not to worry - he means only those who do not learn Torah."
"Mr. Bennett, I read your proposal seriously, its only meaning is continuation of 'Torato Umanuto' – which internally dismantles the Israeli society," he continued, as he explains to his voters that his party will not be part of the government that will not bring equal burden.
The Bayit Hayehudi was quick to respond to Lapid's words. "The burden equality will not be brought through the Supreme Court and high-profile media messages. Bayit Hayehudi will be the bridge between the secular and ultra-Orthodox and will be the one to bring about equality of burden in the next government, but it should not be done through overly excited discourse, which did not bring to any results until today. We also call upon Mr. Lapid to maintain proper dialogue on this important and sensitive issue, even during elections."
Lapid did not hesitate to attack the Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, on the same subject. "He had a historic opportunity to recruit the haredim, and get them into the job market and make a real mark on the Israeli society, and at the last moment he panicked and fled. We know that he prefers not to do anything, so we have to force him into it. That is the role of Yesh Atid."
Lapid added that his party is in Netanyahu's pocket, "They will not smear us, and we will not sit in a government that will not raise the equality of burden. I call upon Yachimovich not to evade and say that the subject is not important. Everyone should join, learn core studies and work." And no, he obviously does not speak against the ultra-Orthodox, "It's not an anti-Orthodox statement, I'm not asking the haredim anything which I do not request of my children and myself."
Lapid's fear arose, probably, in view of the fact that if indeed a religious-orthodox bloc is created - Netanyahu can form a nearly perfect government as it needs only one small party in addition, maybe even not. According to recent surveys (some surveys are even more flattering): Likud - Beiteinu 33, Shas 11, Yahadut Hatorah 6, Bayit Hayehudi - 13 – meaning the government has formed under Lapid's nose, and even if he will join – he will just be another screw, and will not have a significant impact.
Uri Auerbach: "There are agreements"
Last night, at a home workshop in Telze Stone, MK Uri Auerbach from the Bayit Hayehudi spoke about the issue.
This is a workshop being held for several weeks; organizers are haredi professionals, lawyers, accountants and more. All of them are ג voters.
Each week they invite to the discussion one of the leaders of the various political parties.
There have been representatives of Shas, Otzma Leyisrael, Koach Lehashpia and more (so far the only one who did not see fit to come, although invited, was MK Moshe Gafni).
Yesterday MK Uri Auerbach came.
"There have been understandings with haredi MKs about what is going to be the route of recruitment," he said, confirming the information on the subject. "Everyone knows that what was is not what will be," he commented, also on the ultra-Orthodox parties, and others.
