Motzei Shabbos shiurim - canceled • The Gedoilim at a special election conference in Lederman,

After a somewhat quiet and sleepy election opening system in Degel HaTorah, they open the campaign with motivation: the call of gedolei yisrael, the engine which will most effectively influence the Torah public - those who see them leave and do not come out. For advertising in newspapers, as well as jingles is not what will influence the motivation of the haredi community to go out and vote, whatever the weather, whatever the anger over this or that politician.


The main event will be held on Motzei Shabbos, where Hgray"l Steinman, Hgr"ch Kanievsky, Hgr"g Edelstein and Hgr"n Karelitz will sit on the main stage at the Lederman synagogue - and carry out together the 'sacred reading' to the public – go out and vote for the Yahadut Hatorah party.


The arrival of Hgr"ch Kanievsky to the conference is a rare and precious reality, because since the election of תשמ"ט (besides for עץ) he did not participate in election conference's.

Due to overcrowding in Lederman, only Rabbis will be allowed entry to the synagogue itself, while the audience will watch the event on huge screens. Among the rabbis who promised to participate: Hgr"y Silman, Hgr"y Silberstein, Hgr"y Mármarosh, Hgr"m Gross, Hgrs"i Bornstein and Hgr"a Piltz.


The importance of the conference in the eyes of the gedolei yisrael, will testify the following facts: Prior to the conference many rabbis canceled their regular Motzei Shabbos shiurim.

So did Rabbi Menachem Mendel Lubin, son in law of Hgr"n Karelitz, who cancelled a fixed shiur which he says every Motzei Shabbos to some 150 yeshiva students in the Heligman synagogue, , after consultation with Hagaon Silman. Rabbi Yisrael Mármarosh and Yehuda Aryeh Schwartz did the same, after consultation with Reb Chaim Kanievsky - who told them to postpone the shiurim till after the conference.


In a long series of major synagogue in Bnei Brak will be announced on Shabbos the participation requirement for the conference. Hagaon Silman told his associates that due to the great importance of the conference, he is going to deliver the message of the conference in the Kahal Chassidim shul in Ramat Elchanan, himself. This will also be in the synagogue of Hagaon Silberstein in the neighborhood, and in many other synagogues.

A eulogy which was supposed to take place on Motzei Shabbos, in memory of Rabbi Shalom Yungerman - who died this week, was postponed by the order of the Slabodka Rosh Yeshiva, Hgr"d Landau, who expressed that "the conference is more important to Klal Yisrael."


Roshei Yeshiva gathered this morning in Jerusalem to convene similar meetings, during which they called to vote for Yahadut Hatorah. Among the participants were some 40 heads of important yeshivas in the holy city, including rabbis, Rabbi Yosef Chaim Kofshitz, Rabbi David Cohen, Rosh Yeshiva of Chevron Yeshiva, Rabbi Baruch Mordechai Ezrachi head of Yeshivat Ateret Yisrael, Rabbi Moshe Shapira, Hagaon Eichenstein Rosh Yeshivat Yad Aharon , Roshei Yeshivas Ohr Elchanan, Kaplan, Soloveitchik, Wolfson, Kol Torah, Mir, Be'er Torah and more.
