State witness from Holiland: "Meir Rabin is like my son"

"It is a shame that Meir Rabin did not join the state arrangement," the state witness S"d said today in court, according to the report on News 1 website.

As part of the ongoing Holiland statement currently investigated by the state attorney Shmuel Klein, representing Meir Rabin, who served as assistant to the state and won the nickname 'the haredi macher' with the exposure of the affair.

S"d revealed in court that Rabin was able to join him as a state witness: "I still love Meir Rabin, but I am very disappointed in him. I realized that he had a serious ethical problem on a religious point of view in joining me; I know what it means to be a moiser. I'm disappointed that he went and lied.

S"d added: "I suggested that I will reach a settlement for him also, so that he would not have to testify, and I also brought it before (Tat-Nitzav) Shlomi Ayalon. But then slanders began on his part and on from his family, which said I was the devil that roams. I kept trying to bring him closer. He is angry at me and stopped talking to me when he realized I was seriously going to go my way. "

During the investigation S"d told about his relationship with Rabin and described them as "a father and son." He also said he did not remember giving him for his engagement the amount of 30,000 shekels, and that he was with him at the chuppa. He further said that he does not remember giving Rabin 27,500 shekels for the birth of his eldest son, whose second name is the name of the witness, and that he does not remember giving him 30,000 shekels for the birth of his second child.

"I did it with all my heart; I never etched it in my brain. I remember that I gave, I gave him like to a son," he explained.

He confirmed that he gave Rabin 4.25 million out of 5 million which he received from Holiland, to repay the debts Rabin had guaranteed.

The state witness explained that he cashed checks at 'changes' when he did not want to go through the banking system because it was larger amounts for intentions he did not want to be known. He said that Rabin did much of the cashing, but was not the only one, and therefore is not the only one who knows where all the money went.
