Again it is repeated: Hefziba neighborhood in Modi'in Illit was cut off from the rest of the city and is under siege since last night. The square which connects the neighborhood to the rest of the city is flooded and at the site is a raging river flowing instead.
Even during last year's winter the neighborhood was cut off from the city for two days due to flooding. The flooding at the site repeated itself following the lack of proper infrastructure and the strong flow of the river overflowing invades the road and divides the city in two.
Local charity organizations operate to rescue residents as needed.
Meanwhile, a driver in his 30s was treated by paramedics of Hatzalah of the Modiin Illit branch, after drifting with his car this morning to the Modiin Illit River. Fire Forces operated for a long time to rescue him. After the initial treatment of paramedics the driver was taken to the hospital.
Yitzchak, a Hatzalah medic told B'Chadrei Charedim that the car apparently entered hoping to cross the water, but was caught in the middle. "When I arrived, fire crews were already operating to rescue him, eventually the driver was transferred to us suffering from mild hypothermia, we made sure he was warm, and he was taken to the hospital. Then the fire crews tied the vehicle, so it won't drift, but after a while the car drifted away like a leaf.
