The owner of a well known slaughterhouse in the north was arrested and released on bail after being suspected of tax evasion, purchasing and false bookkeeping for four years - amounting to about 4 million.
Despite heavy suspicion against him, Moses Alter, a judge in Acco Magistrate's Court, released Aamar Mustafa Jamal on bail, the owner of the slaughterhouse, Movil Haof Ltd.
The audit department of the tax office conducted an investigation against the slaughterhouse, on suspicion of concealment of transactions, purchasing and eliminate false bookkeeping in 2008-2012.
On Thursday morning, the VAT and income tax offices in Acco - with other law enforcement agencies - conducted large-scale operations at the company offices in Deir al-Assad. During searches they seized hundreds of documents, including diaries and documents, documenting sales and purchases that vanished - allegedly – from the bookkeeping system.
The suspect was questioned a preliminary investigation and interrogation is not over. During interrogation he denied the allegations.
As noted, the court ordered the release of the suspect under restrictive conditions: a personal guarantee of the amount of NIS 200,000, third party guarantee in the amount of NIS 200,000, exit delay for 180 days and more.
