An avrech from Israel who landed in London this weekend, did not imagine, probably, that he will have to pass the Shabbos at the local airport.
But, that's exactly what happened.
The story begins when a Chasidic avreich landed on Friday morning with a flight from Israel which arrived at Heathrow Airport in London. Along with the other passengers, he reached the position of passport control, where he was asked a series of questions.
Suddenly, the avreich was asked to wait at the side and a few minutes later – he was taken in for questioning - by the police in the port.
The avreich was left frightened, and feared that he would have to pass the Shabbos at the airport.
But the immigration authority did not give up, and decided to keep the avrech at their disposal until the end of Shabbos. His entry to London was not permitted. Immediately on Motzaei Shabbos, he was placed on a flight back to Israel.
An investigation conducted by Behadrey Haredim shows that when asked at the passport control, "For what purpose did you come to London? "- He replied:" I came here to collect money for my family and another goal. "
The answer, it turns out, forced the scholar to stay at the airport during the Shabbos - and at its end, to return to Israel, disappointed.
