A yeshiva student, resident of the United States, was beaten last night by a group of Arabs in Venice, Italy.
According to reports, shortly after midnight the boy took a walk in the 'Center' square downtown. A gang numbering about 15 Arab youths dragged him to a dark corner, where they beat him with a sharp object in their possession - until he bled.
The boy lost consciousness. The police and emergency were called to the scene by a bystander.
The Jewish community noted that efforts are being made by the police to arrest the attackers.
Chief Rabbis of Israel turned in a letter to President of EU Council, Herman van - Rumfi: "We express our fears to you on the latest attack, in which a young Jew paid the price for his choice to go in public dressed as a yeshiva student, which testifies the existence of a deep problem."
