Provocation? An anonymous person sprayed graffiti during the night - "Chadash owes me a room" – on the door of the mashgiach of the Mir Yeshiva, Hgr"a Chadash. The room is located in the main building of the yeshiva.
This morning when yeshiva students came into the building, they found the graffiti, and a short time later - it was erased, and the door was cleaned.
Directors at the yeshiva, which is located in the Beis Yisrael neighborhood in Jerusalem, gathered documentation from security cameras to try to uncover the identity of the sprayer. Managers are trying to find out if the person who committed the act is a fellow student at the yeshiva, due to a demand for a room at the yeshiva dormitory - or a person with mental illness, walking around the area of the yeshiva.
The spray graffiti came a short time after the Rosh Yeshiva, Hgra"y Finkel, called to exacerbate the yeshiva admission requirements.
Boys who wanted to apply and be accepted to Mir were required, amongst other requirements, to sign a document in which they declare that they have a kosher mobile device, no text messages or browsing option.
Another statement which appears in the document: the boy agrees to live in an apartment with Mir Yeshiva students only.
