Drama • Undercover exposed in the heart of a Palestinian village

In a village which resides in the Jenin area, riots took place in the afternoon when an undercover was revealed.


The unit was revealed by the villagers and they started throwing stones at the soldiers. They responded with crowd dispersal means.


IDF reinforcement forces were summoned. A number of soldiers were lightly wounded and evacuated for medical treatment.


One resident told the AP news agency that the villagers threw stones at backup forces in the village after the exposure: "They stopped a man from Islamic Jihad and then started the riots, during which they opened fire."

According to Palestinian reports, during the riots about 30 Arabs were wounded by rubber bullets and 100 others suffered from tear gas inhalation, amongst the wounded, a youngster was injured in the eye by tear gas, and they claim his condition is severe.


Other villagers said that the soldiers were disguised as vegetable sellers and that they wished to arrest activists who were involved in the riots in the West Bank.


The IDF Spokesman said in a conversation with B'Chadrei Charedim that since the morning hours during the security forces to arrest Palestinian Islamic Jihad activists a wanted Palestinian, Murad Bani Odeh was arrested in Tammun northeast of Nablus.
