Yesterday evening Lev Yitzchak, a lonely and forlorn haredi man, age 56, was found at his home - dead.
The nursing practitioner, who tried to contact him on the phone for a few days, came to his home, and when he didn’t open the door, entered through the window. He found him dead, surrounded by a pool of blood.
A Shai District Police mobile lab and Emanuel ZAKA volunteers were summoned to the scene.
Michael Gutwein, coordinator of the Legal Department of ZAKA, told B'Chadrei Charedim that volunteers at the scene said the deceased was found near glass stained with blood, which probably the deceased was hit from, and he fell and lost blood - until he died.
"The fact that the door was locked from the inside, and order prevailed at home, indicates that there is no murder, and no signs of trauma on his body," said ZAKA. Police agreed with ZAKA volunteers and city officials that they will update them on the date of the application to analyze the body of the deceased.
"But today police kidnapped and filed for dissection, without informing the ZAKA organization," said Gutwein. "I heard about it, and immediately sent a request to the court in Petach Tikva – in hope to delay the implementation of the autopsy."
But the court authorized the autopsy, without the presence of a ZAKA representative or representative of the deceased.
Attorney David Sosheim, ZAKA's legal department, told B'Chadrei Charedim that he is now considering applying for the High Court hearing tomorrow.
Institute of Forensic Medicine will wait with the autopsy until tomorrow.
Update: 1.1.2012-11:00: At 14:00 a hearing will be held at the High Court, concerning the request of ZAKA to abstain from analyzing the body.
