Campaign which caused an uproar: Bayit Hayehudi - Jewish Ghetto

The Likudnik website uploaded today (Tuesday) a campaign against the Bayit Hayehudi – causing a storm. In the campaign a picture of chairman of the Bayit Hayehudi, Naftali Bennett, is seen standing behind a fence - and above the caption "Jewish ghetto led by Naftali Bennett." Symbol of the party, with a blue Star of David, turned yellow, in imitation of the yellow star that Jews were forced to wear during the Holocaust.

Underneath the picture the campaign producers added a few words to explain the context between the Bayit Hayehudi and the Holocaust and Naftali Bennett: "It took 60 years for the knitted yarmulkes to break the sectored ghetto imprisoning them in the Mefdal. It took 60 years before we finally managed to integrate into the Israeli public and to escape the isolated ghetto that past leaders locked us inside," it was written beside the picture.

"Now Naftali Bennett wants to take us back to the old Mefdal, 'the party of the religious'. Sorry Naftali, but we prefer to be part of the public and not separate. Knitted yarmulkes affect from the inside, Likud MKs have more religious and traditional members than the Bayit Hayehudi!"

Naftali Bennett responded to the ad on his Facebook page: "My brothers in Likud, what happened to you? I have no words."

The Bayit Hayehudi party filed a complaint with the police, so that it will investigate the shocking advertising.

Headquarters information of the Likud - Beitenu party response: "We condemn and express disgust at the shocking publication on the 'Likudnik' site, and call Naftali Bennett to file a complaint for inciting with the police to be to find out who is behind the campaign, the Likud has no connection to 'Likudnik' , and what is published there is on their liability only. "

Vice Chairman of the Central Election Committee, MK Ofir Akunis, called upon during an interview on Army Radio Judge Elyakim Rubinstein and asked him to order the immediate removal of the ad.

It later emerged that the one behind the campaign is Moshe Ifergan, a candidate located on 96th place which is not really feasible on the Likud list, following the publication it was announced that Ifergan will lose his position in the Likud party.
