Halperin affair: Words of an Israeli graphologist and alternative expert
An Israeli graphologist and Alternative Medicine expert in London rushed to defend Rabbi Halperin • Hgr"a Padwa's third letter on the dismissal of the 'Divrei Chaim' community from the Kedasia union.

"The Rabbi Halperin case, writes another chapter in the long saga: these past few days the handwriting of Rabbi Chaim Halperin, 'Divrei Chaim' community Rabbi, which stands in the center of the case, was transferred to a handwriting expert known in Israel - to answer the question: Is it possible to detect handwriting signs that indicate immoral behavior.
The manuscript was transferred to handwriting expert Shaul Halali in Jerusalem, who is engaged in graphology for more than 40 years, and the purpose of the analysis was to try to prove Reb Chaim's innocence in another way - even if a little dubious.
The diagnosis came to B'Chadrei Charedim: "I was asked to analyze the handwriting in the enclosed manuscript, if it shows signs of immoral behavior ... and other features of mental personality," wrote the graphologist.
"I did not find in the handwriting any of the signs in question. The writer is rational, restrained and prudent in his actions and reactions; I did not find any signs of abnormal personality fantasies, which may impair rational personality, up until denial of his actions."
"In addition there are no personality signs which indicate lack of reliability. The writer is intelligent and sober in his emotional and intellectual personality," concludes the diagnosis.
Another letter published recently in connection with the case, written by Peter Thomson, an expert in alternative medicine therapy from London, detailing extensively and favorably about energetic treatment methods which were used by Rabbi Halperin.
Meanwhile, winds in Kedasia are stormy: In recent days some rabbis of the union met to discuss various issues, especially on the case which threatens the dissolution of the organization. It is not yet known what was decided - as Kedasia rabbis are extremely discrete.
The saga became complicated again, when Av Beit Din of London, Hgr"a Padwa signed another letter this week, which stated that the announcement of the Secretary of the Association for the dismissal of the Divrei Chaim community was published on his own accord, after the secretary went through a campaign of vilification from the congregation of Reb Chaim Halperin during the past two days.
The signature of Hgr"a Padwa makes one wonder, since previously he signed a letter stating that this message was delivered due to a "misunderstanding."
