Such a flashy and exciting encounter, has not been experienced by businessmen who were invited to a fundraising evening held by the Union of Vizhnitz Institutions, for a long time.
Members of the Forum for the Association invited their friends from the business world to come and meet the charms of the community, in an evening laden with content, experiences and exquisite culinary menu, and reduce from their pockets money for maintenance of their institutions.
A similar event was held last year for the first time, but then the entrance entailed payment for the sum of NIS 5,000 for the Vizhnitz institutions, but during the evening there was no other fundraising. The heads of the union decided to change the platform. Entry will be free - but those present will be asked to buy 'daily',' weekly' and 'monthly' maintenance of the institutions, for which they will be patrons.
The event took place in the halls of Ronit Farm near the village Shmaryahu. was attended by about three hundred people, most of whom are not necessarily part of the hareidi public, but some have managed to visit Vizhnitz on Succos during Simchas Beis Hashoeva and see the scope of the community, the amount of chassidim and head of the camp, the Rebbe of Vizhnitz.
Businessman Rami Levy was elected chairman of the forum for this evening. Broadcaster Menachem Toker was master of ceremonies and the artistic part was deposited in the hands of Meir Adler's band and the Shira Chadasha choir of children who are not Vizhnitz chassidim but made the evening pleasant with a variety of Vizhnitz tunes and melodies, primarily the well known song "Ka Ribon".
The Rebbe of Vizhnitz attended the event, delivered brief greetings in the Loshon Hakodesh and stressed the high virtue of all who support the maintenance of studies of thousands of students in the institutions.
During the evening 'maintenance days' worth 6500 shekels per day and months with the value of 39,000 shekels per month were offered for "sale". The public responded favorably, and during the evening the union managed to raise a million and a half shekels.
One of the most moving moments was when Meir Adler who serves as a volunteer in the Refuah Ve'chaim organization of Vizhnitz took the microphone in hand, to tell of exciting experiences of musical performance he gives as a volunteer with different hareidi singers for the sick and elderly in hospitals and nursing homes.
One of the stories wrung tears from the public: "I once received a phone call from a singer at an unconventional time and date. It was five o'clock am on Erev Yom Kippur. The singer told me that one of the children with the fatal disease who is hospitalized in Tel Hashomer hostel, Wiesel House, whose room we visited several times during his illness, asked that we come to him urgently. He felt that his hours are few and wanted us to accompany the departure of the soul, singing "Shalom Aleichem Malachei Hashares."
"For a few hours I played for the child and the singer sang. His parents were next to his bed, and the child lay with his eyes closed. We looked at the chart of the devices connected to the patient young patient. The lines zigzagged and moved, once up and once down. At one point, they began to fall. The family began to cry Shema Yisrael and we played 'Shalom Aleichem' to keep the young boy's last will. A few minutes later, he returned his soul to its Maker to the sound of sobs and broken hearts. It is not easy to play in such a thrilling event. The parents never stopped to thank us that the desire of their son was filled."
At the end of the evening, the donors came up to the Rebbe one after the other and received his blessing. The biggest donors also received in recognition a silver crown.
