Hgr"o Yosef: Now is not the time to sit and learn, we need lots of mandates

"I am appealing to yeshiva students studying in yeshivas, regardless if you are Ashkenazi or Sephardic, now is not the time to learn. Arise from your Torah study, as it says that for endangered patient one may desecrate the Sabbath – as it says it is better to desecrate one Shabbat and to keep many Sabbaths. Now is not the time to be quiet, not the time to sit and learn. Go from strength to strength and from house to house and persuade them to support the holders of Torah, so with G-d's help we will have a lot of mandates, and those who go to purify are helped"- so called on Hgr"o Yosef to yeshiva students in his weekly sermon on Motzei Shabbos.


Hgr"o finished his sermon by talking about cutting funding against yeshiva students, and that Shas will put strong conditions for entry to the government. The more seats Shas will have- said the president of the Council of Sages - a government without Shas will not be able to be established.
