Grossman case: two extra days of arrest for the third suspect

Nati Grossman case: At a hearing held today (Wednesday) at the Jerusalem Magistrate's court the detention was extended for the third suspect who was arrested on Sunday – by two more days. The second suspect was released on Monday under restrictive conditions. The main suspect's arrest was extended earlier this week until Thursday.


According to a police representative, since the previous hearing two days ago police made numerous investigative activities, which promoted the investigation. Three alibi witnesses came voluntarily to the police to give evidence of the presence of the suspect during the attack along with them.

Attorney Yehuda Fried, representative of the suspect argued that the police are searching for another suspect, who looks similar to the current detainee, and if he is extradited to the police - the prisoner will be released.


He further argued that the entire investigation and police operations are exposed, and are posted on the Internet. He said two of the three arrests were published before the actual arrest.


The police wanted to extend his detention by three days. Judge Anat Zinger agreed to a partial and extended his detention until Friday, at 9:00 am.

The attack on the Hapeles editor occurred on Thursday night, shortly after 1:00 am, when Nati Grossman arrived home to Bayit Vegan Street in Jerusalem. He was attacked by two unknown assailants who appeared orthodox, and was hit in the face and fingers. He was taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, with light injuries. He was released before Shabbos.


Jerusalem Police opened an investigation into the circumstances of the incident. Police also came to the hospital to collect evidence
