Yesterday (Sunday) an ultra-Orthodox resident of Beit Shemesh aged 55 was arrested - by researchers at the National Unit for the Investigation of nationalism (Crimes) and Lahav 433 Unit investigators on suspicion of forgery of media.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of running a studio that duplicated CDs at a pirated studio in his home, this is whilst a case on similar offenses is going against him for the past year and is now in court, and for this the suspect is under house arrest at night, until the end of proceedings against him.

The unit raided his home - caught disk replication equipment and dozens of disks with burned media, and a computer hidden in a stool.

Charges the suspect is accused of are: Sale / Rent / distributing a copy of a work, producing an infringing copy for trade, sell / rent / distributor of goods to trade, obstruction of justice and law, and disturbing a policeman on the job.

The suspect was taken to the Rishon Lezion Magistrate's Court, where the police demanded to extend the detention for five days. Judge Menachem Mizrachi partially granted the request, and extended his detention for four more days
