The Rebbe was excited: Read in the Sefer Torah of the 'Divrei Chaim'

This past week a reception was held by the Agudath yisrael movement in America, in honor of the Vizhnitzer Rebbe who is visiting in the U.S., on the occasion of his twin grandsons Bar Mitzvah's.

The Rebbe stressed during his speech, a veiled criticism of those who treat Agudath Yisrael of today as a political body.

"Agudath Yisrael was established as a movement to save the future generations, it was erected by the Gedolei Yisrael from all circles, chassidim and Lithuanians including the Ahvas Yisrael zt"l of Vizhnitz, , it is not only a political body, as some people tend to think these days."

The Rebbe sang praise of Agudath Yisrael of America which does great things and sanctifies the name of Hashem. He praised them for the dozens of Shas siyums they organized and that were attended by over one million people worldwide.

"Judaism is flourishing in the Orthodox concentrations and Agudath Yisrael of America is the one that does a lot for them." The Rebbe encouraged and strengthened the Agudath Yisrael, to act even in the remotest areas and reach every corner.

After the reception, the Rebbe was invited to the Israel Association Conference which will be held this coming Shabbos. The Rebbe conditioned participation that he will not give a speech.

"I Mendel Hagar merited"

Last Thursday, the Rebbe came to daven Shacharit, at the home of Rabbi Shmuel Zupnik who has in his possession the Sefer Torah of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz zy"a, from whom the Rebbe is descended.

The Rebbe read in the Torah and went up for shlishi.

After reciting Kaddish after reading the Rebbe began singing and began dancing with the Torah whilst singing the words "Blessed is our G-d who we have been created in his honor."

At the end of the davening, the Rebbe wrote in the guest book of Zupnik: "I Mendel Hagar merited to go up to the Sefer Torah of the Divrei Chaim". The Rebbe also held a Lechaim tisch at the shul.

Chassidim note that this is a rare event, since the Rebbe does not usually read in the Torah, besides Rosh Hashana and Simchas Torah, which shows the importance of the event in his eyes.

In parallel, the Squarer Rebbe also visited the Rebbe who is his brother in law. He requested his blessing.
