Amsalem continues to whip: attacks Hgr"o Yosef

Am Shalem is swinging on the threshold. Maybe that's why MK Chaim Amsalem, Am Shalem chairman, who retired from Shas, intensifies today (Friday) the criticism of the president of the Shas Council of Torah Sages, Hgr"o Yosef.


At the 'Economic Friday', at the cathedral of the Eretz Yisrael Museum, Amsalem said: "The Badatzes are blooming, and of course under the presidency and the auspices of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, they roll a lot of money under his protection - and at the expense of the needy, especially the weakest population."

According to Army Radio report, Amsalem added that he "grew up on the admiration of the rabbi - the same one who solved problems with conversion and raised the Ethiopian community when there was the opposition by other rabbis." But now he separates Rabbi Ovadia Yosef as a posek, and what is happening around them.


Shas chose not to comment.

Amsalem issued last month a book accusing the Shas party with corrupt conduct, and for the first time not only accused the family of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef - but hinted that Rabbi Ovadia himself does not have the features needed to be a spiritual leader, as he defined it.
