Tatzpit agency reports that last Motzei Shabbos, at about 1:45 at night, five masked men broke into a sheep barn in the Sdeh Bar settlement in Gush Etzion, whilst cutting the security fence settlement and two other fences that surrounded the barn. Burglars threw anesthetics using meat lures which hit 15 watchdogs in the place, and after spending an hour in the compound - stole a herd of 250 sheep, which were all pregnant.
At around 3:00 one of the employees woke up due to the watchdogs barking sound that slowly began to recover, and identified the theft. The employee sprung the IDF forces that began searching, with the support of military probe who detected traces leading to the village of Za'atara. Forces began a pursuit which ended after a short time without artifacts.
Information from a Palestinian which came to one of the workers at the barn - led the workers to decide the sheep are probably still in the area, and since the army did not help them, residents of the community began pursue of their own after the thieves. During the chase several residents identified the sheep near Bethlehem hidden in a cave. The sheep were returned to the settlement by foot.
To their delight, with the repetition of the sheep to the barn - one gave birth.
Shai District officials said that the investigation on the issue and details are confidential at this stage. The investigation is being taken seriously to arrest those involved in the theft.
Despite inquiries with the IDF spokesperson regarding the case, and request for a response, they have yet to submit their reference at this point
