The phenomenon of breaking iPhones and Smartphone's is gaining momentum: In Rabbi Amsel's synagogue in Sanhedria, Jerusalem last week an advanced Galaxy device, which was smashed into pieces was hung, and underneath it a sign explaining the greatness of the act: Shattering an advanced device worth thousands of shekels.

Under the device which was stuck using adhesive tape, also hung the following ad:

"By order of the rabbis this device worth thousands of shekels was smashed into pieces, blessed by the One who burned idolatry from our land."

Three months ago Hgr"ch Kanievsky order to a business owner to "burn the iPhone" was publicized.

A group of teshuva seminary students in Safed - who were convinced following a lecture to smash the iPhone in their possession, and influenced their parents to do so – brought their "wealth" to Gedolei Yisrael, including Hgr"ch Kanievsky and Hgray"l Steinman and received their blessings
