Calbotek research revealed shocking abuse at the slaughterhouse of Red Red - a subsidiary of Tnuva, which prompted a wave of protests across the network against the company. Tnuva itself has taken a series of strong measures to improve the negative image suffered in the wake of the investigation.

But to whomever it seemed that the haredi public is not connected enough to the subject of the protection of animal rights, and is only being treated by the secular organizations - was surprised.

An orthodox group arrived today (Monday) at a demonstration at Horse Park in Jerusalem, in protest against the 'Red Red'. The demonstrators carried signs of protest against the company, and for a long time made it clear to passersby's the importance of the commandment "Prevention of cruelty to animals."

Ruth Colian, the demonstration's organizer, who filed a claim following the investigation of 100 million shekels against Tnuva, said to B'Chadrei Charedim, "the greatest Jewish people throughout the ages have been examined by their compassion for animals, Avraham's servant Eliezer studied Rivka by her compassion to the camels, Moshe took pity on the goat and reached Sena up until King David.

"Somehow it has been eroded over the years; we've come here today to say that the haredi public also cares. And by keeping the commandment of preventing cruelty to animals, we will not condone or remain silent about the inhuman abuse that has taken place. Orthodox and religious have boycotted the 'Red Red'! Tnuva must know that there is no apology for the destruction of human morality, the public will not forgive."

In about three weeks, protesters plan to hold another larger protest. They hope more observant participants will participate to demonstrate their concern for the animals, "Out of hope that whoever needs to see it in Europe will also see it, in order to relieve our brethren from their struggle against harassment of Jewish slaughter."
