An IDF soldier was injured today moderately during a training of the Reconnaissance company unit paratroopers in the Jordan Valley. The exercise included live fire and the soldier was wounded when a fragment of a bullet hit through his thigh.
The soldier was evacuated by helicopter for treatment at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem. Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz, visited the exercise of paratroopers shortly before the soldier was wounded and ordered to return the helicopter to the training scene to evacuate himself the soldier to the hospital.
With the injury of a soldier training stopped until the end of the investigation into the incident, performed at this hour by factors at the Security Department of the ground forces. After the investigation and the filing of the findings, the exercise is expected to continue.
