Yeshiva students were arrested at the airport with 293 packets of cigarettes

Last Thursday arrested at the green track at Ben Gurion Airport two suspects were arrested for the smuggling of 293 packets of cigarettes.

At a hearing at the Magistrate's Court in Tel Aviv, Judge Tirtza Shechem Kinan released the suspects under the constraints: will come forward for investigation at any time necessary, self-commitment of ten thousand shekels each, and exit delay for 60 days. Passports were left by the investigating authority.

The two suspects - Argentinean citizens who attend a Yeshiva in Jerusalem, returned on a flight from Moscow and were checked at the customs. 128 packets were found in one student's possessions and another 165 packets of cigarettes were found in the second student's possessions.

Suspects admitted during the investigation, that they left a day before to Moscow, and that they purchased cigarettes for sale with their money. In their suitcases nothing was found, such as clothing and personal belongings, except cigarettes.


The two suspects are suspected of offenses under the Customs and Tax Law.
