A 7 month old infant was found with no pulse and not breathing at around 14:00 on Rabbi Akiva Street in Bnei Brak. He was evacuated to Maaynei hayeshua hospital-where he was pronounced dead.
Hatzala paramedics who reached the scene began performing CPR on the infant and MDA and Halzalah Gush Dan medics joined them. 20 minutes later, a mobile intensive care unit transferred the baby in critical condition, whilst continuing CPR on the way to hospital.
Yoel Nachum, an employee at 'Optica Halperin' situated opposite the building, told B'Chadrei Charedim:" a paramedic learner who lives in the building began CPR right away, and I and others joined him."
Zevi Tepper, a Hatazalah medic said: "A Hatzalah medic who lives in the building began CPR whilst calling the emergency center-which sent an ambulance and additional personnel. The paramedics tried to save his life and carried out CPR, until the arrival of the ICU mobile which evacuated the baby to the hospital. The background is unclear."
Menachem Indig, a Hatzalah Gush Dan medic said: "I was under the building when I was called to save a non breathing baby. I broadcasted the call on my MIRS Hatzalah group and I called for more forces, in addition the call was transferred to MDA. When I arrived at the apartment I found a non breathing baby and I began CPR right away."
The mother said that 35 minutes earlier she was playing with him and everything was fine. When she went to his crib later she saw something was not right and called the rescue forces.
