Construction site located behind the Mir Yeshiva – Zhvill Square near Jerusalem, were discovered a short time ago during construction work several artillery shells.

Police sappers were called, in their opinion, the mortar shells are from the Six Day War in the month of Iyar תשכ"ז.

Since this is a populated area, the Jerusalem police decided to remove the bombs into the open, where police sappers blow them up in a controlled manner. Evacuation works were made by a special crane, while the security staff present fire place.

For this reason, the Shmuel Hanavi Street was partially closed to traffic – from the section of Shmuel Hanavi Street to the entrance of Beit Yisrael neighborhood.

Recalling, two days ago police sappers detonated the old fallen shell, found during excavations in Jerusalem Cedar tunnel.

This is a relatively large unexploded fall over 120 mm, and a police robot dragged it into a pit prepared for that in a valley nearby. The abortive was found during excavations there in infrastructure projects.
