The struggle against the court ruling – to evacuate the Heligman shull in Bnei Brak, continues: Last week the judges gave a further extension to members of the shull, so that they can appeal against the decision to restore the full possession to the family's heirs.

The final ruling in the court was against the Rav of the shull, Harav Avraham Yeshayahu Karelitz and shull organization, who claimed that the building was dedicated as a shull and there is no requisition - though the desire of family members who inherited the land.

Shull members are reinforced in recent days for the struggle for control of the shull: Hagaon R' Yaakov Edelstein of Ramat HaSharon, Harav Eliyahu Schlesinger, Rav of the Gilo neighborhood in Jerusalem, Harav Yehuda Kenner, Rav of Kiryat Sefer and Colonel Harav Aharon Yitzhak Lapidot, previous Corps in the Southern Command - launched special letters on the issue.

The common denominator to all writers is that each of them took trails in different stages in his life through the shull.

First is the letter of Hagr"y Edelstein: "I express my heartrending feelings about the wonderful place Zichron Mordechai Heligman shull, which my studies at the Ponevez Yeshiva whose location was in this synagogue. Since then, Baruch Hashem, the voice of Torah and prayer is a gem in the city of Bnei Brak which causes a Kiddush Hashem downtown. My prayer and blessing is that this place will continue to flourish and to sanctify God's name."

Harav Eliyahu Schlesinger noted in his letter that the Simcha of his Bar Mitzvah was celebrated in this shull. "Even my late father z"l was a regular worshiper and one of the heads of the community," writes the Rav, "May your hands maintain and preserve this little temple which is important not only to residents of Bnei Brak but to all residents of the entire Holy Land."

Colonel Rabbi Aharon Yitzhak Lapidot wrote: "Since the rumor about the possibility that the Heligman shull be destroyed, G-d forbid, and therefore the sound of learning and prayer will stop there, harsh thoughts have been crossing my mind. For many years I saw the reference of soldiers in respect and awe to any place of worship even the most temporary. "

"How does such a thought occur to Jews from the seed of Israel? I hereby beg and ask you for all that you have to remove the evil decree."
