The Rabbi who collapsed in Australia died at Shaarei Tzedek

Baruch Dayan Haemes: at Shaarei Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem died today (Monday), at the age of 65, Rabbi Shalom Schnitzler zt"ll, a prominent Satmar chassid in Jerusalem.

Last week he went to Australia to raise money for Kollel Satmar Jerusalem, where he suffered a sudden heart failure. He was flown urgently to Israel in serious condition and was hospitalized at Shaare Zedek, where he returned his soul to its Creator this morning.

Satmar Talmud Torah children prayed all the time for his complete recovery.

The deceased was born in the U.S. Acquaintances talk about a Talmid Chacham who knew the Shas thoroughly which he learned all the time. He was known for his righteousness and brought closer homeowners who could not learn. "Every week he finished the six orders of the mishnah" say his friends. "He sat down and studied all the time, on Shabbos he was learning throughout the whole Shabbos and was awake 24 hours. He was a real hidden tzaddik. We would consult with him about everything and what he said we did".

He used to go to morning kollel Ohel Leah established by the Satmar beit midrash in Jerusalem, where he would sit starting at 6:00 in the morning until 12:00 at night. During the day, every hour he was studying with another companionship, some of them drop out boys.

His brother is the player Reb Michael Schnitzler from the USA.

Funeral - today (Sunday) at 13:15 noon from the Baruch Moshe Satmar Beis Medrash on Yonah Street in Jerusalem – to Har Hamenuchos, where he will be laid to rest.
