Hanagid was buried with charity receipts of $72 million

Thousands attended last night (Sunday) the funeral of Hanagid Hrh"ch Rabbi Avraham Noach Klein z"l, which was held in Jerusalem.

The funeral procession began in the streets of Borough Park, where the bed of Hanagid Hrh"ch Rabbi Avraham Noach Klein z"l first came to the Hall of the Mesivta of Ger Hasidim in the U.S., the building which he built on his father's name, the late Rabbi Ephraim Chaim Klein.

At the Yeshiva he was eulogized by Rabbi David Olewski, Rosh Yeshiva and Mesivta Beis Yisrael, and Rabbi Eliyahu Levi Fisher, head of the Ger Kollel.

The bed which made its way to Israel, was joined by his eldest son R' Mordechai Klein and his eldest son in law, R' Mordechai Weitz. A delegation of dignitaries of Gur Hasidim Committee, who came to pay their last respects to the deceased waited for the bed at the airport.

In the streets of Jerusalem obituaries were published from various organizations mourning the loss – starting from Ger, which the deceased was a member of the Presidency; Association of new Ger Beit Midrash; Beis Din Yaoshor Vetov – which the deceased founded; Yishivat Oraita; Shaarei Mishpat; Institute of Oz Vehadar, and more.

A large crowd was waiting for the bed at Shamgar and Rabbi Shaul Alter the Rosh Yeshiva of Sfat Emet, was crying loudly and mourned the great loss of the Torah, the demise of the man who he himself was Torah, a symbol and example of the Torah. The Rosh Yeshiva called for introspection.

Followed by Rabbi Daniel Alter continued and eulogized, son of the Pnei Menachem, who reminded of the great love for the deceased and his father by the Pnei Menachem, who honored and cherished him, first as a Torah learner and then as Torah supporter. His son Rabbi Yaakov Klein parted from him in the name of the family.

The funeral procession then continued to the Beit Midrash Gur. At Schneller camp powerful speakers were placed and thousands of Gur Hasidim, who preceded their arrival, in honor of the Bar Mitzvah of the Rebbe's grandson, filled the huge expansion.

With the entry of the bed, the Gerrer Rebbe went to the funeral. The main eulogy was delivered by Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Tauman, a union functionaries and Beit Midrash, who eulogized tearfully.

In his words he recalled the few words of the deceased, when he accompanied Rabbi Mendel Ashkenazi during the last ten days of repentance: "Mendel, Mendel, so young?"

Following him, his son in law Rabbi Green eulogized with emotion, who told the wondrous acts of kindness, which belonged to the deceased and his wife Stbdlht"a.

The funeral procession went on the Mount of Olives, where burial plot was purchased in the Poland compound next to his parents, where he asked to be buried. In his grave were buried - at his request - receipts of $72 million, which he contributed throughout the last 14 years, since he inherited the business from his father.

Due to the funeral the Bar Mitzvah of the Rebbe's grandson was postponed for over an hour.

Ger said tonight that this is the third painful funeral within the last year by members of the presidential council of consolidating institutions of Ger - the late Rabbi Yehoshua Mosbacher, the late Rabbi Mendel Ashkenazi and Rabbi Avraham Noach Klein, all in their sixties, to the chagrin of every heart.
