A gas canister exploded tonight (Sunday), in a residential building in Mea Shearim in Jerusalem, the house caught fire and part of it collapsed.
Tonight a gas canister exploded on Ashlag street in Mea Shearim, a gas explosion was reported on the second storey of the building.
Part of the building collapsed and caught fire.
Firefighters and rescue forces were alarmed to the place and extinguished the fire.
Two were slightly injured.
Y. Sofer, a volunteer paramedic of Ichud Hatzala related: "There was a strong explosion which sounded all over the neighborhood, the scene was like a scene of a terrorist attack - flames rose from the apartment after the explosion.
"When I came to the scene, I came across 2 casualties who were lying on the ground from the force of the explosion, we gave them primary health care, and it's a great miracle that their condition is defined light. Many fire fighting forces were on the scene, it may be noted as a miracle of Chanukah."
A police investigation revealed that yeshiva students lit Chanukah candles close to the canister, causing it to explode.
