Baruch Dayan Haemes: On Erev Shabbos in New York Rabbi Avraham Noach Klein Halevi z"l, a leading Gerrer chassid, and a member of the top Presidency of the Union, and a founder of the Union of Ger Institutions in the U.S. and establisher of the Torah world and author of many sefarim, passed away.
On Friday, he visited a doctor for testing, and in midst of the treatment suffered a heart attack - and within minutes he returned his soul to its creator, when he was in his 60s.
The deceased was born to his late father Rabbi Ephraim Chaim Halevi Klein z"l. He was a businessman who set his time for Torah. He authored many books on all areas of Torah. His last book is the monumental book "page on the page" on all of Shas, which he completed at the Talmud graduation last year.
He was an avid lover of Torah, and established the Beis Din 'Hayoshor V'Hatov', in a number of cities in Israel, with the intent to provide service for those who need Torah law arbitration and Dinei Torah on Choshen Mishpat. The framework published many sefarim, which the deceased was a full partner in their activities.
In תש"ן he established the Ger Yeshiva building in the U.S. - Ner Yisrael Boys, and in תשס"א the high Yeshiva building – 'Yeshiva Gevoho D'Gur' USA.
He inherited the property from his father, and his uncles, his father's brother, who left no heirs. The Klein family was connected to the Gerrer Rebbe and Beis Yisrael zt"l. He merited pleasing the Gerrer Rebbe's who gave him excessive closeness, and in turn came before them, as a slave to the master.
His excessive chassidus was reflected, amongst others, by a virtue he received by the Rebbe, the Pnei Menachem zt"l, who told him to take advantage of his time on Shabbos and not be engaged in small talk – a conduct that he guarded for two decades. Many remember him learning and studying all day on Shabbos periodically.
His donations and charity broke the Ger frame institutions and he gave to thousands of Torah and chesed institutions all over the world. His home in Borough Park became a fortress and address known for acts of kindness.
In a month he was supposed to accompany his last daughter to her wedding.
His funeral will leave tonight (Motzei Shabbos) at 18:00 New York time, from the Beis Yisrael Ger Yeshiva in Borough Park, Brooklyn - on its way to Israel.
