The Sanzer Rebbe lights candles in the Chanukah menorah received from his father in law, Hagh"z Reb Shmuel Unsdorfer zt"l.
His father, the Rebbe the 'Shefa Chaim' lit this menorah several times when he visited the Israel - during the period of his residence in the U.S..
This year there is a special innovation in Sanz: Eight big silver vessels were acquired by the generosity of chasidism, and each night a different vessel will be submitted to the Rebbe from which he will pour oil from to the menorah.
After Chanukah, a raffle for these vessels will take place between donors for the center of Torah and Chesed of Kiryat Sanz.
The Rebbe has a menorah which went through the reincarnation of the Holocaust, but it is unclear if it served the founder of the dynasty the 'Divrei Chaim' zt"l. It was found in a treasure of silver and ritual objects, hidden by the young man Chaim Tzvi Halberstam hy"d, son of the 'Shefa Chaim' of Sanz, in their yard, before being exiled from Klausenberg during World War II.
The treasure was revealed forty years later - by a tractor driver who dug there and found a crumbling wooden box from which objects protruded. After a series of hardships and lobbying the treasure was transferred to the Rebbe's house in Kiryat Sanz in Netanya.
When the objects reached him, shortly before the first day of selichot in תשנ"ב, tears of joy streamed from his eyes.
