Yaakov Yosef Greenwald, the last detained Japan prisoner, who has served four years in prison, will go out on vacation on Sunday, the first day of Chanuka.
Two months ago Greenwald was transferred from the Japan prison and continues serving his prison sentence in Israel.
Greenwald was sentenced to six years in prison, of which he had already served four years in a Japanese prison. Since his arrival to Israel, lawyers, along with community leaders have worked tirelessly to bring an end to the case.
Nitzan Prison authorities, where he is detained, announced today that Greenwald could leave for vacation on Sunday - the first day of Chanuka. Thus, for the first time in four years he can celebrate with his extended family.
It was also published today that Greenwald's final release will be on Tuesday 19th Tevet.
