Police released tonight Hgr"d Shmidel from Atra Kadisha, who allegedly violated the order and attacked a police officer in her line of duty - during a demonstration held by activists at the construction site of the Government building in Beer Sheba.

Hgr"d Shmidel was released without conditions, after the involvement of politicians.

Dozens gathered in the evening in the Lederman shull on Rashbam street in Bnei Brak for a rally of support. In Zichron Moshe shull in Jerusalem his supporters gathered too, including Rabbonim of the Eda Hareidis to protest the arrest.

Earlier this evening a number of people held a demonstration on Yechezekel street in the capital and burned garbage pails.

This afternoon (Tuesday) Hgr"d Shmidel arrived together with members of Atra Kadisha at the compound to protest the desecration of ancient graves which is carried out, according to them, on the scene.

During the protest police was summoned to keep the protesters away from the complex. Harav Shmidel allegedly was in violation of order during the demonstration and attacked a policewoman.
