Author of 'Siddur Mevoar '• Rabbi Avraham Genzel z"l

Two days after the death of his mother, Rabbi Avraham Genzel z"l, a leading Sanz chassid and author of the 'Siddur Mevoar' passed away in Jerusalem at the age of 66, hours before Shabbos

Baruch Dayan Haemes: Hours before Shabbos, Hagaon Hachassid Rabbi Avraham Genzel, a leading Sanz chassid and author of the 'Siddur Mevoar' passed away in Jerusalem at the age of 66.

On his birthday last Monday, he was hospitalized at Shaarei Zedek hospital in Jerusalem. The following day, on Tuesday his mother a"h passed away, and on Friday he returned his soul to its maker.

The deceased was born on 12th Kislev תש"ז, to his father Reb Eliezer Genzel zt"l from Karta in Jerusalem and his mother a"h.

During his childhood he studied at the 'Etz Chaim' cheder in Jerusalem, and later on at the Boyan Yeshiva in Jerusalem. Later on he studied in Kiryat Sanz in Netanya, where he became close to his Rebbe the 'Baal Hashefa' from Sanz zt"l.

He married the daughter of Rabbi Chaim Shteinberg z"l from Jerusalem.

Following his marriage he work in children's education for many years, and was a mashgiach at the Zevhill Yeshiva, at the Sanz Yeshiva in Jerusalem and as a spiritual principal at the Talmud Torah of the chassidus.

Thirty years ago he published for the first time the 'Siddur Mevoar' which became a must in every Jewish home. He also published the 'Hagadda Mevoar'.

His home was open for all, and many knocked on his door and sought his advice. He worked a lot in Shalom Bayis, and Gedolim enjoyed sending people to him.

His funeral left his home on 7 Nechamya Street in Jerusalem towards Har Hamenuchos, where he was buried before Shabbos.

He left after him his wife and a beautiful generation. His sons: Reb Chaim-Chassidi School Principal in Beitar Illit, Reb Yaakov Leib, Reb Mordechei, Reb Yitzchak, Reb Elazar. His son in laws: Reb Nsaftali Druk, Reb Moshe Zaltzman, Reb Yehuda Binett, Reb Akiva Goldstein, Reb Baruch Weinberger, Reb Shlomo Eliezer Tauber.
