Last Thursday four Satmar yeshiva students, who joined other detainees in the case of Nechemiah Weberman were arrested. Some were later accused of contempt of court.

A trial is being conducted against Nechemiah Weberman, a 54 year old Satmar chassid, a resident of Brooklyn, who handled drop out youths close to 30 years, following embarrassing complaints which reached the authorities. Weberman may absorb a cumulative sentence of 75 years in prison. The court has received wide coverage throughout New York, and so far enormous damage has been made to the orthodox public image.

Last summer, a number of activists tried to talk to the family of the main complaints, so that they will cancel the complaint – in exchange for half a million dollars. Activists reported the offer to her husband on Shabbos, but he recorded them, and complicated an additional four detainees in the case, including activist Avraham Rubin and three sons of Av Beis Din Rabbi Mishkoltz. According to the Daily News of New York, the activist was recorded when he was talking to the husband of the complainant in the case: "Even if this is true he should not go to jail," he was heard saying in a conversation. "A Jew does not belong in jail."

On Thursday, during a discussion of the evidence of both parties held at the court, Satmar chassidim came to the courtroom, to support Weberman. But during the debate four of them - Satmar Yeshiva boys sent by hacks - were observed taking pictures of the witnesses brought by the complainant in the case. The four were arrested on the spot by the police on charges of contempt of court.

On Friday, after sunset, the four detainees were released on bail of $5,000 or $2,500 in cash - for each one of them. One of the detainees was released, after it became clear during the investigation on his case that he did not take pictures.

The other three were charged in court, and if convicted they may absorb punishment of up to one year in prison.

The time of release of detainees, shortly before Shabbos, made the presence of family members impossible. "They did it on purpose," said the brother of one of the detainees to the media. "They had to walk two or three miles by foot."

Brooklyn DA's office dismissed the allegations and responded: "We do not have the ability to decide when the indictment will be read out."
