Baruch Dayan Haemes: In Bnei Brak the well known chessed figure Reb Yaakov Shlomo Rosenthal z"l passed away at the age of 70.
The deceased was born to his father Reb Yechiel Mechel Rosenthal, and grew up in the Meah Shearim neighborhood in Jerusalem.
He studied at the 'Etz Chaim' Talmud Torah and Yeshiva, and later on studied at the Mir Yeshiva. For many years he learned together as a chavrusa with Hgh"z Reb Zundel Kroiser.
The deceased is the grandson of Reb Yisrael Moshe Wershewer-Rosenthal and a descendant of Reb Yechiel Mechel from Zlotschov zt"l.
He married the daughter of Reb Yisrael Shechter zt"l, from Vizhnitz and set his davening place at the Antanya shul on Hoshea Street in Bnei Brak.
His home was open for all and dozens of men would sit at his table on Shabbos and Yom Tov. Many poor people would knock on his door and he would give out tzedakka with a smile.
Dozens of families would receive large amounts of money from him without them knowing who it came from, and would send many families groceries for Shabbos.
He left a beautiful generation after him: His sons Reb Zerach-spiritual director of Panim Meirot Yeshiva, Reb Tzvi-a Rosh Kollel and son in law of the Kralli Rebbe, Reb Menachem-Rosh Yeshiva of Chazon Nachum in Bnei Brak, Reb Yisrael, Reb Moshe and his son in law Reb Mendel Baumel.
His funeral will leave tonight (Tuesday) at 23:00 from his home on Yonah Hanavi Street in Bnei Brak to Jerusalem.
