The streets of Strasbourg closed and the Jewish community celebrated
Rabbi Shmuel Akiva Shlesinger, Rabbi of the Etz Chaim community in Strasbourg, donated a Sefer Torah L'Illui Nishmat his father. Rabbi's and public figures throughout France came to participate in the community's celebration

Strasbourg celebrated on Monday when a Sefer Torah was placed in one of the city synagogues and the Jewish community joined the event. The Sefer Torah was donated by Rabbi Shmuel Akiva Shlesinger, Etz Chaim community Rabbi in Strasbourg.
The Sefer Torah was written L'Illui Nishmat his parents, Rabbi Mordechei Shlesinger, Av Beis Chug Chatam Sofer in Tel Aviv.
MK Yisrael Eichler took part in the event by mission of the Belzer Rebbe. Harav Eliyahu Dreyfuss also took part in the event, and brought a letter of participation in the event from Harav Wosner.
Rabbis from all over France came to take part in the event and the roads were closed to allow the procession of the Hachnsat Sefer Torah to proceed in the city.
