Elad resident escaped with her cancer stricken son from Schneider hospital

Drama occurred at the Schneider hospital in Petah Tikva: a child of six, had surgery to remove a tumor in his head, was smuggled out of the hospital by his mother, a resident of Elad, due to chemotherapy resistance.

Yesterday (Monday), after a two-day chase, and the intervention of the U.S. Embassy, the case ended - and the child was returned to the hospital.

Last Motzei Shabbos, the mother left the hospital with her child, without the knowledge of the medical staff at the hospital. When the medical team suspected they escaped they reported as is required to the police and social services. A court order was immediately issued requiring the mother to bring her son back to the hospital.

The child himself, it turns out, had the surgery ten days ago, and in order to continue to fight the disease, doctors ordered chemotherapy treatments.

On Sunday the child was supposed to start treatment. But his mother objected to these treatments, because she says "I do not believe they will save the child" - and decided to act.

Yesterday she arrived at the U.S. Embassy requesting their help, however there they decided to call the police, who found the mother and child and ended the case.
