Supreme Court: Commission to appoint judges will convene after the elections

Supreme Court judges, Eliakim Rubinstein, Uzi Fogelman and Zvi Zilbertal, today ordered the commission for appointing judges not to convene until after the elections.

The decision was made by a petition filed by the movement of "Emunah", demanding to cancel the election outcome for representatives of the Attorney Association committee to elect judges; this claim contradicts the law guaranteeing women's representation in various committees.

The judges stated that after the election it should be examined if the Knesset and the government will appoint women to the committee. They made it clear that if no women will be appointed after the election - City Court will rehear the petition.
